Wayne Caparas
Foreword by Robert Williams
Wayne Caparas is a multifaceted artist. His versatility and ability to function at a high level in several different art forms are almost unparalleled in my experience. His voice is a rich, soulful baritone of great power, richness, and beauty. I have enjoyed performing with him over the years, and seeing him bring down the house time and again with his gripping delivery, vocal quality and intense presence as a performer. I have recorded two of his Contemporary Christian songs on a cd of my own. I feel that he has an innovative style in writing both lyrics and melody, and hope to see his new project gain a wide audience. As a fellow Christian, it is wonderful to have seen Wayne increasingly learn about God and follow hard after Him. His enthusiasm to grow closer to the Lord and walk with Him is inspiring. I have seen Wayne pick himself up after times of adversity, learn from them, and move forward again. His attitude of positivity, hard work, and determination are of rare intensity, and serve as an inspiration for me also. My favorite thing about my friend Wayne, however, has always been that he is a loving, devoted and wonderful father to his daughter Amber. He has always taken this seriously as his most important role in life. I have observed him taking extraordinary amounts of time and energy to watch over her growth spiritually, musically, and athletically, and her life is bearing lots of good fruit in all of these areas. This is an artist worthy of listening to closely both vocally and lyrically.

Biography
As revealed in his music, Wayne's journey has been marked by repentance and transformation at every turn. Since the mid 90's he has served as a singer/songwriter, worshiper, playwrite, or actor/director on numerous Christian recordings, stage productions, and multi-media broadcasts, but nothing in his background would have indicated such a life. in 1990 Wayne and brother Rally Caparas lead a team of very talented people to build a mini-conglomerate of fitness brands including several health clubs and a variety of fitness media productions that drew international acclaim. But after a lifetime as a repressed artist (see his back story at the bottom of the home page) Wayne gradually sold his interests and hurled himself headlong into the performing arts and play writing. Wayne studied with the late Michael Conyers, Metropolitan Opera Star June Bonner, and producer/composer Robert Williams, and eventually studied with the New American Stage Company in New York. Wayne gained membership to the Screen Actors Guild and earned a dozen minor roles in motion pictures and television films while continuing to work as a vocalist and songwriter on the side. But following a series of life changing events, in 1998 Wayne was reborn as a full-time dad, freelance writer and ministry artist back home in Charleston. He now volunteers as a storyteller and speaker for a broad range of ministries and professional organizations, and on several occasions he has sown his experience as a media director and organic strategist to assist in the planting of healthy inter-denominational ministries. In these cases he has also served as a worship leader and drama director as the need arose. As a journalist he has been published in several newsstand publications and regional newspapers, and on the forefront he is working toward the completion of a manuscript concerning the most overlooked words and works of Jesus as recorded in the four Gospels of the bible. Wayne is a Furman Scholar and College of Charleston cum laude grad and has continued his learning with two decades of intense scientific and historical study (including graduate coursework in Christian theology). He hopes his first book to be a non-religious everyman's guide through the Gospel, written from the perspective of one called out of the world, broken, born again, and restored through the hidden messages and deepest truths of Christ. These themes drive the songs in Gospel Project. The album is in essence the preamble to Wayne's manuscript, as his transformative and uplifting lyrics are entirely founded on the born again life.
When not writing or teaching or acting or singing the Gospel, Wayne lives it in the field as a media producer, brand strategist, and business writer at the head of Caparas Media, a network of free-lance artists and global media professionals who value freedom over mammon, and his 19 year old daughter Amber is his lead intern. Wayne is a U.S. Chamber of Commerce "Blue Chip Enterprise" designee, a two-time Entrepreneur of the Year finalist for South Carolina, and during his fitness business days was honored as the Small-Business Man of the Year by the Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce.
